The kitchen looks great, but ... the quarter bond pattern of the floor tiles would be absolutely not for me. It would drive me crazy. I prefer large format tiles with a cross joint.

Oh, it's not that bad. It looks more restless in the pictures than it actually is. It is laid like this throughout the entire lower area. It was tiled this way in 2006. Today, I would also use different tiles and tile differently. Tastes change over time.
