After a year with controlled residential ventilation and a reasonable extractor hood, I have to admit the grease film is not as bad anymore.

We saw the cassettes when we were choosing them, and fortunately, they are not so delicate that you can’t wipe them with a regular cloth.
The thing next to the oven is a coffee machine that my husband absolutely wanted. The distance to the island may look bigger than it actually is... I don’t remember exactly how many cm it is, but it takes just one step to get from the oven to the island.
We will actually not use the bottle racks for bottles, but rather for small decorative items... yes, they do collect dust, but for the look, I’m happy to dust them more often with a cloth.

How do you do that when the roast or the bread or whatever needs to be basted, brushed, or treated in some other way during preparation? There is somehow nothing within reach where you can put something down.

probably means that you can't place the broth, herbs, the greasy cooking spoon, or whatever close enough, so the risk of constant dripping is high. If you want to turn the vegetables later when roasting, you can't place the bowl close, so the oven has to stay open longer.

I would also like the seating area. The kitchen size is also nice. What I find very irritating are the different measurements, for example the cabinets of the island: next to the shelves, there are still three different widths used; since the cassettes are additionally emphasized, it looks very busy.

What do you put on the shelves? They might only be about 12/13 cm high?
