I'm curious to see how the atrium behaves in summer.

That would then possibly be the optimal place for exotic flora & fauna :)

Against the heat, we have the shutter and the hope that the atrium can be used like a chimney for ventilation. According to the plan, this should actually be well controllable, I'm curious to see if it works that way :D

Is the atrium open to the top or does it have a glass roof? I can't really tell. Anyway, really nicely done!

Is open at the top. The roller shutter is also not waterproof due to the perforation, but it still lets light in during the summer and (hopefully) keeps the heat out.

Well done :cool: how is it drained? The olive costs a fortune in that size?? Will it survive the winter?

- The olive tree, including delivery to the installation site with 4 men, cost just under €800. Compared to the huge bonsai I originally wanted, a bargain ;) According to the nursery, the tree is hardy and can withstand short periods down to -16. When frosty nights are expected, we simply close the lid at the top, and if a really harsh winter is coming (when was the last time?), we wrap it up. In the worst case, a few people can lift the pot and put it inside the house or garage.

- The ground is permeable and additionally designed with a slope into the corners where there is a cistern connection.
