Well, you also have to look at where the price comes from. We also spent "15-20K€". The price is roughly divided into about one third each for furniture, appliances, and countertop. All three items have their own levers to adjust.
Furniture
Is mainly determined by size and fronts. 10m of lacquer costs more than 5m of foil.
Appliances
The number of appliances is increasing (steam oven, second oven) and the price for ventilation (downdraft, Berbel, Gutmann) is currently boosted by the island trend. There is a huge price difference between Amica and Gaggenau. If you buy the "classic" four appliances, mid-range Bosch/Siemens/Neff, you can easily spend €2500 on appliances.
Countertop
Laminated countertops are considered standard, sometimes available for under €100/m. The former market leader natural stone or composite is already three times as expensive, with ceramic and Dekton you are in the upper three-digit range per meter.
I think the price drivers are very easy to identify. For example, if you can do without the extra-wide downdraft cooktop flush-mounted in ceramic, you are quickly under €10,000.
But as so often, forums, building blogs and social media show that these are all must-haves.
