I find the kitchen beautiful, also the floor!

What is the lowered slab in the corner for? Wheelchair no, that would have been designed to allow it to be driven under.

What is the lowered plate in the corner for? Not for a wheelchair, that would have been designed to be roll-under.

I suppose... seating area? I would also find the spot quite practical for the large canning machine, the fermentation balloons, or the sauerkraut barrel, but that's not everyone's thing ^^

Simply as a seating corner. It's not due to the window, because when we planned the kitchen, we could have easily shortened/moved it or something like that. We just wanted a small seating corner there where you can sit in the morning, for example, with a cup in your hand and look out over the fields. Here’s the view out when I sat there yesterday (unfortunately without good weather and still without a nice area up to the street)
