We don't have many mirrors and they are in the countertops/side panels of the kitchen furniture. What is suitable as a countertop should be robust enough. It also has no seams and is easier to clean. There are simply more possibilities than before.

Yes, there might be something to that... I was thinking about how we want it someday. Actually, I find tiles more beautiful. I guess, as always, it's a matter of taste. But cleaning the joints from tomato sauce and grease splatters is also no joke. Does anyone know if there are materials for joints that are easy to clean and leave no residue?

That's how it is. We just had to see how we could adjust our wishes to the circumstances. The house is from 2006 and the kitchen from the end of 2015. I would always position the trash can under the countertop again. There are perfect solutions like a U, but the connections were just like that.

Our back panel is also a worktop, so you basically have unlimited options when it comes to the decor.

What I see less and less are tile backsplashes on the walls. Why don't people do that anymore? For cost reasons? In terms of durability, a backsplash should be better than plastic/wood panels, right?

The simple reason could be that kitchen studios possibly offer more of their own alternatives today than in the past. We chose glass only because it is easier to clean; at first, we were also considering tiles.

If you want something cheap and good, the 12-year-old Glenfarclas will do. Well made, very sweet and smooth, making it good for whisky beginners. You can still get good quality for somewhat reasonable prices.

The best way is to try a few at a seminar or visit someone with a small selection. We used to have these years ago. In the course of reduction, friends and I have enjoyably reduced the stock to now 6 open bottles.
