What I really don’t like at all, however, is the laminated wood panel in the stick pattern on the kitchen island. It looks like cheap hardware store material. I would have preferred a notched solid wood panel from the carpenter.
It might be due to the image quality, but in my opinion it actually looks high-quality. After long consideration, we also decided to take a piece with a live edge.
The white cabinet has quite large gaps at the top towards the ceiling. Has the ceiling been plastered so unevenly in your place, or why does it look like that?
And currently, the acoustics in that room must be dreadful, right? I don’t see anything that could absorb sound/voices. Do you have plans for that?
Unfortunately, the concrete ceiling is not quite even, which also affects the walls because the plasterer didn’t do a very good job. Most issues on the punch list were attributed to the plasterer. We will close the gaps with an acrylic joint, but at the moment I’m leaving everything open and imagine that it might help with ventilation behind the cabinet. We will wait a year to get rid of construction moisture; the wardrobes, bed, etc. are currently all standing 10 cm away from the wall.
The hallway is something we still need to tackle, especially since the dog has been deaf for 2 years and since then likes to express himself with loud barking :/
and it also isn’t photographed or posted when it’s "in use" ;)
Then you wouldn’t see the kitchen for all the pots and pans ;)
But we use it extensively, we both like to cook a lot. My wife is always nagging about that and has to photograph it for Instagram; but that way you get a nice overview of what we’ve eaten in the past few days :D
