And why the window at the sink? We currently also have a window in front of the sink. When I wash dishes or fill pots with water, I never really look outside deliberately. I think it's the idea that one wants to have a nice view. But in reality, you hardly use it. You can test at your place where you actually look when you do the dishes

The kitchen is quite generous in the plan. But you want to take something from the utility room anyway (why actually, that creates an awkward corner in the kitchen shape) Moreover, you have a rather large dining and living area, so the proportions should roughly fit. Otherwise, the kitchen looks cramped.

No, the kitchen is not too big. You just have a lot of storage space and room for reserves. I'm also on team aircraft carrier. Then you can look towards the living area while washing up. I think it's nicer than standing right in front of the window. An aircraft carrier looks modern, tidy, and really stylish!

Wall cabinets are usually not that deep. They are only 30-40cm and not 60cm. The height varies, so the fronts can definitely be swapped! And with money, anything is possible anyway. Discuss with your kitchen installer which cabinet details you prefer. But keep in mind that wall cabinets or a nice display cabinet do not contain drawers..

We also debated back and forth between U-shape and L-shape + peninsula. U-shape gives a greater sense of space and the possibility of a small table in the middle for a snack, as a work/storage area. You have to walk more "around" an island, but it allows more open cooking toward the dining area, is more modern... In terms of storage, it makes almost no difference for us in the end. Price-wise, the peninsula is more expensive for us, since we will take a table extractor hood that costs about 1-2k more than a normal wall hood...

We plan the sink on the wall -> with a window (but no wall cabinets next to the window because of that) and the cooktop on the peninsula. Maybe that’s an alternative for you?!

Thank you very much for the great ideas. I find it incredibly difficult to decide.

Uh, why are you arguing so much about the sink and where to look. I use a dishwasher. The sink is overrated nowadays - at most for quickly rinsing things (a pan that can’t go in the dishwasher or kitchen knives) or for draining some liquids and rinsing fruits/vegetables.
