During testing in the planning phase, the lava gray was one of the most resistant surfaces available, but we could not gain long-term experience yet as we do not live in it.

I give my like for the kitchen design in dark gray and warm wood as well as the floor "covering," but I have to say I have never missed ceiling height anywhere – except here. I also think the kitchen will lack both daylight and workspace. I look at the room, that is the first photo, and do not feel comfortable.

now I am interested in how high the room actually is.

Yes, ceiling height is indeed something... I would have liked another 20cm as well but a stupid development plan and an authority that didn’t want to recognize the difference between the "intersection of the rising wall with the roof covering" and the top edge of the parapet limited us to 2.60m interior height... unfortunately. The room is a bit more narrow and elongated than I hoped but the first picture reinforces that impression since it was taken with a wide-angle lens.

Daylight will not be a problem, there is an atrium directly opposite the kitchen. See (somewhat older) photo without the kitchen.

Without the wide-angle lens it doesn’t feel quite as cramped anymore.

Thank you for the response. I would have also estimated 260, since the pantry door is 200/211, then a 40 cm cabinet above it, and then the paneling with 10 cm adds up to 260. An atrium, nice :) But you can already see that the kitchen is located more in the darker part of the room. I like the dark surface of the kitchen and hope that you won’t regret it at some point. We ourselves have a window band (east) above the dark countertop, and despite terrace doors 4 meters away, the light above the island still has to be on. Well, you can live with it if the design is an eyecatcher :D

hmm I will probably have 267 and my room is much smaller. I think I still won't make the cabinets ceiling-high. that's probably the main reason for the compact look, right?
