hmm I will probably have 267 and my room is much smaller. I think I still won't make the cabinets ceiling-high. that's probably the main reason for the compact look, right?

I wouldn't have said that. Friends of mine have ceiling-high cabinets, and nothing looks compact at all. But they have bright kitchens (the white wall, for example, doesn't look compact here either), not a long narrow room with the kitchen in the center. And yes, the wide-angle and the fact that there are hardly any pieces of furniture yet will also contribute. After moving in, it might look different in reality.

Then we will wait for your move-in and photos of the room setup including the room height as well as a report on whether the table remains in front of the pantry door or how the position of this door proves itself :) By the way, you could revive your old thread and post a summary with the finalized floor plan.

That is a good question, the answer to which I will research. I have had both, ceiling-high cabinets and non-ceiling-high cabinets, and I am not quite sure whether ceiling-high cabinets make a room look squat or not. So far, I have always found ceiling-high cabinets more elegant, but that is not an answer to your/my question.

Except for the back wall, it is a Schüller kitchen with a ceramic worktop, glass fronts, Siemens appliances, controllable LED lighting, and a Bora Classic 2.0. I believe the back wall was from Nolte or Alno. The price was €24,500.

Your kitchen looks very good, we are currently planning a kitchen from Schüller as well. Is that the front "G187 Glas matt onyxschwarz" from Schüller? What is your impression so far and how visible are the fingerprints?

We hesitated for a long time between gray and black, but would now rather choose black. We were able to look at both colors in the kitchen studios and the gray appears relatively light in the light, almost like a light gray. The black does not seem that dark in the light, we even had all the lighting spots turned off once. Of course, if there is little light, it can get quite dark. However, on the right side of the kitchen we have a 4.5m long glass front facing south, so there should be enough light coming in.

It's not really black anyway, it always looks kind of grey in the light... unless someone builds a kitchen with Vantablack;)

The matte lava grey from next125 (by the way also a Schüller brand) really appealed to us because it is very dark but clearly supposed to be a grey. The black fronts always looked to me as if they were already slightly faded... although we didn't deal with glass fronts at all.

Exactly, you can of course see fingerprints more quickly on dark colors, especially with greasy fingers. But the glass is definitely easier to maintain than our lacquer fronts from the previous kitchen (also Schüller).

The matte onyx black is really a deep black, we are very satisfied with the decision and it looks amazing, especially in an open-plan kitchen.
