For my taste, the kitchen has too many patterns. White, darker gray, light wood on the floor, darker wood as the countertop, dark hexagon tiles, white wall tiles, metal... I admit, I am a bit sensitive about that.
Different builder, different kitchen, different tile Unfortunately, in this light it looks very restless, the tiles are quite matte and actually not that different in color.
The tiler and the parquet guy managed a very clean transition and we are super satisfied even though the man had to be convinced a bit at first. Afterwards he was also very glad that it’s not just something square...
How we'll like it in 14 years? No idea - but we didn’t want some total cookie-cutter look!
What I really don’t like about it is that the tiles simply transition to the wooden floor right in the middle of the kitchen and also under the kitchen block. So either the planning was bad in advance or I don’t know what, but it would have been nicer and more harmonious if the tiles had ended only after the kitchen block and built-in wall. As it is, it just looks like a mistake. I find the tiles themselves stylish and definitely something different.
The kitchen unit should stand on the parquet from the living room side. Unfortunately, the drywall installers made a mistake on the other side of the passage. The transition was previously planned a few centimeters differently but was then actually deliberately chosen so that the dark front stands on the parquet and the tiles from the living room are no longer visible.
The photo is taken very "tight". Overall, the transition does not bother us at all, but at first we also had your concern!
