When I look through this thread, I am already very excited about our kitchen in the house ([ausgesucht ist sie schon]). At the moment, in the rented apartment here, we have a very complicated kitchen space, so it has cost us a lot of nerves to fit something reasonable and affordable here.

We tried to realize a decent kitchen with a limited budget, so under 5 thousand. The pictures show the result. It is an IKEA Veddinge white with Ikea appliances, 4600.- including delivery and installation. Additionally, there is an already existing Bosch fridge with freezer compartment, one of those man-high silver ones. And in the adjacent utility room, there is also a two-meter Billy pantry cabinet, 45 cm deep. For us, everything needed is there.

I think this attempt is crowned with success. Great to use oven and microwave separately and at a comfortable height with that budget.

At least in Lübeck, Ikea has a very dedicated, attentive kitchen planning team that gets the maximum out of their products. Unfortunately, the outsourced assembly service is only adequate, certainly nothing more. But the product quality is really good. The drawer slides are buttery smooth, like in much more expensive brands, the panel paintwork is clean, the fit is very good, the quality of the appliances is okay, no more. But as long as it holds, it holds; what do you expect from a 400-euro dishwasher?

No, better not. The kitchen faces north and has a window. It needs bright colors. White, silver, beige, the brown sofa, the red chair, the wall panels, the countertop are enough as color accents. K.

Among other reasons because of the reputation of the assembly service, we distanced ourselves from IKEA early on, but the kitchens are really not bad, especially the somewhat higher-quality ones from the showroom.

My mother treated herself to a new kitchen from IKEA at the age of 80 and had it assembled by a carpenter. The result is impressive.

Regarding "kitchen quality": Yes, kitchens are especially heavily used and stressed furniture. However, what is called "medium quality level" in some kitchen studios already has an excellent level. Well, a Mercedes C400 is also a mid-range car.

I advised a kitchen manufacturer that is priced above Bulthaup. They had a statistic that a large portion of customers do not cook in these kitchens. Catering is set up or cooking takes place in a work kitchen in another part of the building.
