The Ikea kitchen offered us the best price-performance ratio. We also had time for the assembly. We didn’t really expect it to take quite that long (about 8 days), but it was neither tricky nor tedious.
However, 18 cabinets with interiors simply take their time, and we would choose an Ikea kitchen again at any time. Especially because of the price transparency (which we missed in the kitchen studios).
Electrically, we took the stove and the refrigerator from Ikea. The oven and microwave are from Neff, and the dishwasher from Siemens..
We have an Ikea kitchen in the current rental house, still a Faktum, but for almost 10 years now and I still find it beautiful, and it has never had any issues. I also think the Swede doesn’t make bad kitchens.
We probably would have had the kitchen completely assembled and installed, and together with the installation costs we would have ended up at a similar price as in the kitchen studio. And there we had seen a kitchen that absolutely had to be it (purely visually). That’s sometimes how it goes.
I didn’t find the kitchen prices in kitchen studios particularly transparent either. But in the one where we finally bought, we were at least able to agree with the consultant from the start that he should spare us the percent and discount talks and that we’re only interested in the final price. He understood that well, and we always got the price directly. Even if we wanted to change something (replace an electrical appliance with a higher series or something), he could always tell us exactly how much more or less it would cost.
We compared the price of the final kitchen by having it planned again by 2 other kitchen studios. Price-wise, that made virtually no difference. We’re talking about differences of around 100-200€ on nearly 20k in price. So of course, we bought where we were initially so well advised and planned.
