I couldn't work in the kitchen because of the many drafts, and it would also be too dark for me (dark countertop, dark backsplash).

That would be too much stuff and decoration for me and a bit too dark, but it's a matter of taste. Regarding the working height, there is actually no "modern" working height. Feet or plinth height are usually variably orderable in height and there are low and high cabinets. You just have to know that before buying the kitchen. Since you don't have a niche backsplash or something similar, you might still be able to "adjust" something regarding the height... shorten the plinth panel and screw the feet down further.

By modern I mean that for about 25 years people have been thinking that everything has to be as high as a standing desk.

My highlight function doesn’t seem to work, so I can’t quote... about my working height: I have installed my ideal height here. I’m not adjusting any legs.

You don't have to have everything looking brand new. For that reason, I don't like to show mine at all. It would immediately be torn apart because the fridge is full of magnets or everything that’s lying around doesn't conform to the current trendy minimalism.
