What you could of course still do... if you have the washing machine downstairs with a countertop, build this cabinet on top of it and also attach it to the wall.

Without feet. Put the refrigerator in there, remember the ventilation at the bottom (e.g. like in one of my pictures in the thermal cabinet). At the top, another board from a standard corpus must also be placed on it, cut out ventilation at the top and it fits. Just as an idea... you could do the same with the dishwasher and above it install oven and microwave in this cabinet in a similar way.
Best regards, Robi

hey,

thanks for the idea Robi, you could do it like that yes! I'll think about it.

Another question: With these under-counter units from third-party manufacturers, like your dishwasher for example, how do you then get these Ikea fronts on them?

that was quite simple,
a pictorial instruction manual is included with the bosch devices.
what you might need is a 35mm "forstner bit" (approx. 8 -10 euros at the hardware store).

the doors on the refrigerator and freezer are equipped with the better fixed-door technology, fits without problems with the IKEA cabinets (the employees at IKEA of course won't tell you that). this way you save the IKEA hinges for the overlay technique.
oh yes, if you want to do it that way, please note the following:
the dishwasher (also the ones from IKEA) needs cabinets on the left and right or a fixed attached panel, because the dishwasher is screwed/attached to those on the sides. that's why I also placed the 20cm pull-out drawer on the left wall. this is great for storing dishwasher cleaner and detergent for the washing machine. you could place it between the washing machine and dishwasher, and above it you could also install it as, for example, a wine rack or similar so it looks uniform, but you don't have to.
a floor plan with measurements would be good ...

Hello,

a small addition: when installing a Bosch/Siemens dishwasher at the end of a cabinet row, an additional panel must be installed (at least for the mentioned model). The installation manual can be obtained online from Bosch.
For other manufacturers, no additional parts are sometimes required (e.g. Miele); I do not know what it looks like with the [Ikea-Geräten].

Note: For the washing machine, not the dishwasher.

Hey,

if you’re really interested, here’s my current planning status:
I think you unfortunately need to leave some space behind the appliances for water hoses, right? Accordingly, the countertop would be deeper than 60cm.

For now, I’ve focused on a sensible layout for the base cabinets and struggled with that for a long time, but I think now it will work.

A family friend who is an interior designer strongly advised me against upper cabinets in that room because they would hang in front of the window, close off the room, and we would like to hang industrial pendant lamps over the countertop. Instead, he suggested hanging a floating cabinet construction on the right wall where all the stuff like pasta, flour, rice, salad bowls, microwave, etc. can go. That could work, but then there’s only about 85 cm space between the countertop and that shelf, which I find a bit tight.

The proper dining table will be in another room, where you could also imagine a buffet with plates and dishes inside.
Still, somehow a few glasses and bowls belong in the kitchen in my opinion.

What do you think? The least I would do is somehow put a board above the tile backsplash for a few essentials with an LED strip underneath.
The extractor hood should go there too; then you have to decide whether inside a cabinet or separately on the wall.
What do you think?

Of course, I would prefer a 60 dishwasher, but you have to make sure there’s still some space on the right next to the window, as that goes down lower than the countertop height and otherwise would look totally stupid if blocked like that.

Still, I’m not 100% sure yet whether you should do something with cabinets in front and keep your back mostly free. Mhhhhh
