I officially finished assembling our first Ikea kitchen yesterday...

Conclusion: My next kitchen will be from Ikea again.
The assembly worked well and both the look and the quality are simply impressive.

However, to be honest, I underestimated the time required...
Just banging together a few cabinets and pushing the whole thing against the wall is not how it goes...
We spent our entire vacation week on it and worked on the kitchen every day from 11:00 am to 1:00 am. In total, it was nearly 7 meters of kitchen units and I was glad to have a well-equipped hobby basement behind me. Jigsaw, handheld circular saw, pillar drill, angle grinder, miter saw – everything that was there got used. On top of that, you always need a screw or a piece of wood and a creative idea...
If you trust yourself with all that, an Ikea kitchen is a good choice.

Hello,

so. my knight of my heart also "takes up" quite a bit when it comes to tools...

Have you already taken photos of your new gem..
Would you like to describe them a little???

Has the price moved in your direction as well, or did it also go somewhat significantly over the budget?
Which countertop did you choose?

Do you possibly even have a stone countertop? I am very interested in that because so far my search for experience reports has been unsuccessful.
Did you also install the hidden drawers? How do you find them?
Your fronts?

Please forgive me if I’m pestering you too much...

Warmly Hochglanz

I would have exactly one week or 9 days time.

In my album, I have created some pictures of how I imagine it. On the wall where the table or the refrigerator is supposed to be, I want to screw MDF boards, possibly also a proper construction with shelves and then stick stones on it. Something like in the picture.

The table is of course not to scale, mine is a bit smaller. Besides, you cannot put the chairs under it in the planner, so it takes up a lot of space in the picture.

According to the planner, the kitchen would cost just under €2900 without all the electrical appliances, which I think is really great. Generally, I only took carcasses with pull-out drawers; only the corner and the tall or wall cabinets have various doors.

What do you think?

Which fronts would you recommend now?

PS: The order would be from right to left

1. Tall cabinet 40x60
2. Tall cabinet for oven 60x60
3. Sink base cabinet 60x60
4. XXL dishwasher with Vario hinge 60x60
5. Base cabinet for cooktop 60x60
6. Base cabinet 60x60
7. Pull-out cabinet 20x60
8. Corner cabinet (pull-out)

Hello..

Depending on what and how much you clean in the sink.. Whether left- or right-handed.. it could get tight in this corner.
Have you considered whether you need a draining area?
A careful observation of your habits could clarify this..
Until recently, I thought I needed such a surface. But on closer inspection, I noticed that it is actually only used dishes waiting for the next step. I often dry many items immediately.. so I can save that space in the next kitchen.

The space between the sink and stove is the most frequently used area.. Therefore, I would enlarge it a bit (e.g., regarding the draining area).

Sometimes an 80 cm cabinet offers more.. than 1x 60 plus 1x 20.... it is also more economical in proportion.
It’s best to take a close look at the dishes (plates, pans, pots).

Even better, you can stay within budget if you choose closed cabinets instead of wall cabinets with glass doors.
This also has the advantage that you don’t immediately see the contents (which only really looks good if everything is orderly.. and it doesn’t appear too cluttered).
But of course, that is a matter of taste.

Of course, it also depends on your cooking habits.. Do you chop a lot? Or prefer pizza delivery?
Together? Or alone?

Warm regards, night angel

Hi there...

I forgot... I really like the stone wall.. I'm planning something like that too.
However, I'm still unsure about the tone..

Best regards Hochglanz
