With us, I specifically asked the general contractor, and they were eventually priced in at 30/60 because there was hardly any extra effort. I like grout lines! I mean, I like grout patterns, and with 30x60 they are more lively than static 30x30 or square ones on floors. How much extra effort does the tiler charge for that?

Ultimately, it also depends on the overall picture: floor, pattern, and interior style... Many tiles also live from the grout pattern...

Anything larger than 60x60 or similar could already be replaced with linoleum since grout lines no longer matter.

I am asking explicitly because we will mainly have them in the long entrance area/hallway (see #59 from https://www.hausbau-forum.de/threads/erste-grundrissplanung-auf-karopapier-hang-keller-2-geschosse.37567/page-10) and can say little about the possible effect. Our gut feeling tells us that we can live well with 30x60, also considering that we have included a few other extras that offer us a higher added value.

We are not that far yet. The quote calculates the tiles at exactly 30 euros / m2 and a maximum size of 60 x 30.

More important to me would be the color and texture of the tiles, if there is only rubbish in the standard, the price won't help to make you happy

Great feedback! That's exactly what we wanted to decide on. While going through the construction service description, my wife said, "If there is a nice gray one as standard, we'll take it."

Important besides the tile size is also the room size. Discuss the laying pattern/direction, because that also makes a big difference with certain tile(sizes). Keyword waste.

Example: in a 120cm wide hallway, a 100x100cm tile may not be the best choice ....

Then at least change the shade or the laying direction before you end up with visual tinnitus in the loony bin. Besides, tiles of the same format in (especially neighboring) rooms with significantly different sizes are nothing else but relatively different formats after all. The larger the tiles, the more noticeable it becomes if the room formats are not adjusted accordingly. Such interferences are particularly noticeable in narrow hallway areas and guest toilets and the like. I always "admire" the proportionally challenged people who don't even notice such things.
