I'm sneaking in here now with a few photos, even though it's not about the garden, but at least about plants. ;-) To the right of the sandstone-colored driveway (the curbstones will be painted to match the driveway and the garage will also be painted in the color of the house) you can see at the border the first plants I put in. I watch them every day and would most like to sit on the driveway to watch them grow. :) There are 13x ivy "Goldchild," which unfortunately I could not get in a taller version. Ivy "Goldchild" is a bright, radiant, golden-colored plant that is also slow-growing and thus, I hope, will be easier to keep under control. My aim is to bring some calm to the side of the border. I might still plant a few spring bloomers in the planting trench, but I first have to see whether and how they would "get along" with the ivy. As some already know, I want to visually separate the garage from the house, so I will soon be dealing with which (tall) plants I will put to the left of the driveway. Off topic: A roughly curved driveway was important to me. Since we could not find a professional for it, my husband made it himself under protest ;-) but now he likes it considerably more than a straight driveway.
