We currently have a problem with our lawn, it is practically burning along the curbstones, I know it is hot outside and yes, I water it, but the edges are still getting damaged.. I suspect that everything will recover after the heat, but is there a way to counteract this in advance? Installed are 30cm deep curbs and the wedge is about 20cm below the edge, so there is enough soil for the grass. The neighbor said that the curbstones should be separated from the grass with studded membrane.

Do you have an automatic irrigation system or how do you water it?
Near slabs and curbs it is always critical. Irrigation is usually weaker at the edge as well. With the weather in the past few days, you need about 30 liters per m2 per week. At the curb, rather double that.
Best to water in the early morning hours before sunrise.
What surprises me is that you have a strip there. Right next to the stone it looks even better. Is there an overhang or something similar there that drips down?

with proper irrigation, the lawn looks great even in this heat. Probably too little and/or wrong watering.
But I can understand anyone who does not want to irrigate. It only makes sense in areas where water is not scarce and, for example, can be supplied from rainwater.

With us too, or just a strip between juicy green.

Then I tried watering twice. Green became greener, brown became browner.
A few streets away, there is an outdoor facility with an irrigation system; there the lawn was also giving in places these days.

I have to say, as pretty as the stone walls look, the rays still emit warmth at 4.

One good thing about the heat between 5 and 6 in the morning is that you meet all the neighbors at the village fountain.

with the hand and with a sprayer. I am of the opinion that it is definitely sufficient, although less than last year with the new approach, but every second evening. The green 2 edge is a coincidence, I didn't really notice it because of my green color blindness.. and no, no roof dripping. I will water the edges more strongly and suspect that it is simply the darker deep borders.

No, trust me Rick, our lawn is simply burnt, it is not dried out. Even the hazelnut has burnt leaves. We have a part of the garden that is relentlessly in full sun from morning until evening. Exactly where the lawn has at least partial shade, it looks good. That is the heat, not the watering.

Otherwise, things are going well in the garden. Everything is green and blooming (because I water, without watering probably half would already be dead, the drought here is severe). Some things struggle with the heat, for example the potted vegetables in the courtyard or the hydrangeas in the front garden. On the whole, it’s really good at the moment.
