Yes, the foil was not my preferred solution either. Two weeks ago I was still telling all the neighbors that we preferred it green and wanted to try without it first. Then I stood for the first time with my cheap Makita trimmer in the thicket and after an hour decided that a) we need a brush cutter with a blade, and b) I don’t want to do this a second time. It’s not a small slope either, it’s almost 35 meters. And because of the huge alders there were 50-100 suckers on the slope, some already so deeply rooted that you couldn’t get them out anymore. And a lot of thick thistles and nettles. Too much.
In all other beds I have worked without foil so far and instead put thick mulch on, which actually works quite well. Weeds come through, but you can pull most of them out easily. It’s also because I was way too lazy to prepare the soil properly. :D

Phew, it’s not really my thing. But I also think that "stone" and "garden" do exclude each other.

You said it was too late for vegetables. Google Marie from Wurzelwerk. She posted a video on Saturday with vegetables that should be sown or started in the bed in July. There is also a book Wintergemüse by Heidi Lorey. There are still quite a few things that can go into the bed until October.

You were the one with the hypersensitivity, right? That’s not meant to sound negative, just to set the situation.
By the way, I find background music in nature and also in the garden absolutely unnecessary. Inside, it can be on, but then you only really hear something on the terrace.
I can’t quite grasp it now either: I once had a colleague who couldn’t filter out background noises. He would get upset over the clacking of the spoon in the yogurt and always moved away because of frogs, chirping birds, etc. (tenant).
