Difficult. I assume the plants are supposed to be rather narrow. Grasses are narrow, do not need a trellis, can withstand wind and heat, but in spring they have to be cut back and then it takes time. Ivy, in my opinion, is indestructible, narrow, evergreen, needs a climbing aid, and grows vigorously. Orange blossom, maybe bamboo.
Since you don't mention a container, I would probably just try out different plants. Winter hardiness - what is hardy in the ground can freeze in a container despite protection. Wind - speaks against trellises (my rose pyramids have also been blown around several times recently, despite being secured). Various perennials, grasses, and plants create variety and also offer something pleasing to the human eye. If something breaks, you can then plant the container with another proven plant.
