Oh, that doesn't help at all. Regarding climate change, this is no longer false balancing. It’s like the creationism debate in the USA. Everyone basically knows it’s complete nonsense, yet it is still taken seriously. The problem is that a scientifically based debate doesn’t work when the opposing arguments aren’t scientifically founded. There are also quite a few who really believe that the Earth is flat. Nobody tries to have a serious discussion with them anymore.

Speaking of book recommendations...has anyone of you read the books by Yuval Harari?

Yes.

I assume I should say something about it?

They are recommendable if you want to know what Harari thinks about the future. This is often original, but that does not mean it has to be correct. I find much of it implausible. At least they offer something with which you can sharpen your own thoughts, if you want that.

Stylistically light and didactically simple.

Oh... how did that slip in here? It was actually supposed to be in the more general thread... but whatever. I read through the first one and had a smile now and then and little "Oh, I see... that could also explain some things" moments. With the second one it gets a bit tricky, but there are also a few thought-provoking impulses. I find them quite worthwhile to read anyway, because they also look quite comprehensively at us humans and how we tick :)

By the end of summer, our garden had turned into a "green hell" :D
