We also have no cushions. I find that impractical for the reason you mentioned. Houe would also be extremely weather-resistant. Price-wise still okay. Brandstores minus houe Punkt de

Are they open at your place after all? You live in BW, right?

maybe it works with an appointment at your place. It is supposed to be possible in some federal states. Not in Bavaria.

Yes, I am in BW. Since 01.03., garden centers have been open. Hardware stores are still closed :-( I'm curious to see what comes out today... But let's be honest. It's just like with hairdressers. I only say private shopping. Call & Collect is already possible now. Just call the store and make an appointment. They will surely put a few different chairs out for you to sit on briefly....

All the garden furniture I have seen so far in DIY stores does not appeal to me visually or qualitatively. When shopping online, there is a high risk that it also does not meet expectations, and I have no desire to return these bulky items again ;) I would need a table with 8 chairs (unupholstered) and lounge furniture (upholstered).

I would add Solpuri to your list of manufacturers

If you want to spend the money, I prefer stainless steel instead of just aluminum as well as ceramic plates for the table.
Armrests of the chairs should never be metal to the skin, it gets hot. Also on the legs. The leg rest should always protrude beyond the frame so you don't "burn" yourself on it.
Wood needs maintenance, think carefully.
I don't like cushions, we have mesh fabric on the chairs and I'm satisfied with it.

If you want something like a lounge, pay attention to the base. It should be at least aluminum.
There are now fabrics and cushions that can really stay outside without rotting. Example Kettler Royal Lounge
