I should probably make my flowers winter-proof now. Snow is forecast for the weekend. Let's see.

We're getting 13° tomorrow. Insane.

I also still have plants (again) outside that are not frost-hardy. But at these temperatures, they’re doing fine outside. I also think winter will come eventually, but then a lot will break again, like what is already sprouting now. For January, it’s definitely way too warm. December was also too warm in the second half.

Oh, and rain, almost non-existent. It’s still way too dry here. Last week we had some notable rain, but overall it’s a joke. The rivers are too empty, I just observed it again earlier. If nothing gets replenished soon, next summer with 40° and more will be fun.

But it is like that in Hamburg all year round, isn't it?
(I lived in Hamburg for 2 years about 10 years ago - it was like that then, at least)

Pure prejudice. It does not rain here more than in Munich and significantly less than in, for example, Cologne. Even if one living here can hardly believe it.

And in some of the last summers, I would have really been happy about a consistent 10 degrees all year round!

That's what I told my southern German relatives back then. But if you look at it closely, although the amount of rain in Munich is higher, there are significantly fewer rainy days. The typical Hamburg drizzle doesn't bring much rain, but it's still not very pleasant. On the remaining sunny days, however, it is above average beautiful at [Strandperle]!
