My wish was for higher espalier trees at the border, but the neighbor did not allow that. So it remains somewhat "uneasy" because I cannot completely neutralize the neighbor's building at the border.
You could, with the neighbor's permission, give the wooden privacy screen on the right, at least on your side, the dark coloring as well, then everything would be a bit neutralized.
I can join in on the green roof topic here. We also did it ourselves with sedum that looks like roll-out turf. I really enjoy the green roof a lot; real bumblebee parties are held up there.
