How openly glyphosate is named here as a valid alternative is shocking.
As if a golf lawn wasn’t natural desert enough — then you add poison on top of that.

This is purely about subjective aesthetics of a recreational property. About nice ground for the kids to play on and to look at. When farmers try to save their harvest by spraying, that’s bad enough these days, but at least understandable. But for a patch of lawn? And at the same time promote heat pumps, e-cars, and photovoltaics because of environmental protection...

Sorry. Had to get that off my chest, of course not only referring to you, Your post was just the proverbial last straw.

No, forget that quickly.o_O With high-quality rolled turf and mixtures, Supina is included from time to time. Supina can displace annua. It just needs a lot of nutrients and water. But it is also lighter and it takes 2-3 years for such grass to spread over a large area. You will have color differences for that long. Better smaller amounts of fertilizer but more often (every 2-4 weeks). In autumn, just a round of autumn fertilizer.

all good. It also works without chemicals and usually faster. I can understand anyone who wants a lawn, has invested a lot of money and time into it, and wants to maintain it. As long as there are alternative areas for insects, birds, etc. in the garden, in my opinion, it’s okay. Anyone who wants to be “green” and/or even votes green should not build or own a single-family house ;) everything else is greenwashing.

So I continue to mow regularly with the robot, water relatively late, and fertilize regularly? Or what exactly should I do? Digging out is not an option, those things are everywhere.

Yep, I would fertilize every 4 weeks, 20-30g per m²... water preferably only 1-2 times per week, but thoroughly, so the grass grows deep. If it rains, then not at all or even less. I'm now going to level 3 on the Robi and declare war on the stuff^^
