Agreed, if it’s too tight, it becomes too much

I am usually not a fan of garden art. But these are beautiful, and indeed, nothing must steal their show, then they have an effect!

Let's say this is weatherproof art; it was not intended for the garden. In our new house, space for our art is tight, so weatherproof pieces will have to find new places.

So, thank you very much for the tips on wall planting.

: good point about the honeysuckle. That will be the choice now, also in the evergreen variety.

: Thanks as well. A cladding of the wall was once considered. But since there is no stone available as cladding, we discarded that idea. It's Nagelfluh, which is only available here in town...

Cladding with stone is not difficult.

1. Place mini foundation strips 10 x 10 cm in front of the wall.
2. Fix a wooden slat/board at the edge of the foundation parallel to the wall.
3. Lay stones into the groove created between the slat and the wall (as much surface as possible to the slat, since this will be visible later) and fill the rest with mortar. It takes some puzzle-solving to keep the gaps small, but it works great. The width of the groove should be adapted to the stones. The slat also straightens the wall at the front, even with crooked stones. You can easily work on up to 40 linear meters in one "groove."
4. When the groove is full - let it dry and proceed to the next level.

Costs "an apple and an egg" and looks great. You can use any stones that you like.
