Well, we or rather my wife often make a soup out of it.

Normally, boil meat for broth, wash the red beet, cut into strips, fry it sharply with onion, carrots, and potatoes. Usually add cabbage as well and then boil it up. But that is a simplified version for me since I'm not really a fan of vegetables in soups.

I have already tried various preparation methods, he just doesn't like the earthy taste. Besides tomatoes, he is not really enthusiastic about much from the garden anyway. Unless someday there is a meat plant or sausage bush

Make a borscht and let it sit for a day. The next day this earthy taste is gone. It's really like that, I usually don’t even touch beets voluntarily.

My harvest yesterday:

Borscht: my husband doesn't like it (as an East German, he knows it, so I can't just slip it to him).

So now for the tomato sensation... Variety: Beefsteak Tomato Pineapple. That means the color has to be like this.. It comes from our greenhouse. The soil was fertilized in spring with fresh fish remains. By the way, there are still 3..4 similar specimens hanging on the plant.

My German Gold looks similar - inside it is marbled and tastes great!

Enjoy your meal!
