Very nice! This year I had an unusually large number of goldfinches. At the moment, the bumblebees are active, more than usual, unfortunately many wild bees have frozen, so I buy some every year. Soon the first orchids will bloom, then there will be pictures too!!!

Thanks The goldfinches are new this year. Beautiful. They are nesting in the roof of the covered seating area, I think they are common redstarts. There are many bumblebees around here, bees too. Next door at my mother-in-law's terrace there is a sand bee speed-dating portal. Wild buzzing. Do you have outdoor orchids?

I am currently trying to raise two standard lilacs. One looks good, the other is drooping. I probably didn’t get enough root. Fortunately, lilac grows like weeds here and I have enough research material

I have about 7 hectares of forest in the Middle Saale Valley. Among them is also a roughly 400 m² traditional orchard meadow with native orchids, such as the early-purple orchid, lady's slipper, and bee orchid. They will start blooming in early May. Yes, that is something special and I look forward to it every year. Last year I planted a lilac with yellow flowers. It has taken root. Well, we'll see if it will work out.

I hope my concern fits in here, dear ones..

Between the neighbors of the next semi-detached house and our property, a privacy screen made of arborvitae has been planted. Where our front doors face each other, the hedge has dried up, and in the corner at the end of the privacy screen as well. So, four trees are affected.

The tenants of the house have dogs that often come over to us and do their business on our lawn or our gravel bed.

At the tenant’s request, I contacted the landlord, who does not want to do anything because he has trouble with his tenants and suspects that it is caused by dog urine, since the dogs often do their business there. But I cannot judge that..

This whole situation really annoys us, so we have decided to put up our own privacy screen in front of the hedge along the entire length. It should not be too expensive but still "look good."

What would you recommend?

Not really, but since you're already here... That's a bit confusing, but why don't you first put up a fence so the dogs don't mess up your garden? Or is the fence supposed to serve as a privacy screen at the same time?
