Instead of a 2 m high L-block wall, we had a gabion wall of twice 1 m built. It was somewhat more expensive in terms of price because all the facing stones were placed by hand and the finishing curve was constructed as a dry stone wall, but the slightly higher price was worth it.
Gabions can also be filled by yourself, which makes the matter significantly cheaper. Setting L-blocks of that size... without an excavator?
The neighbor had L-blocks set at different heights. The smallest is 40 cm high, the largest 2 m. Without an excavator and wheel loader, this would not have been feasible. Machine hours also cost money! The craftsman has to earn as well.
I find the initially mentioned price of 200€/sqm for a 2 m L-block including substructure and installation realistic.
