As far as I know, the buffer tanks are supposed to prevent/compensate for too short operating times of the compressors caused by closed ERR. It is often the case that the refrigerant also serves as a lubricant, and if the pump only runs for about 30 seconds at a time, it is not sufficiently lubricated. The buffer is supposed to ensure lubrication for at least 5 minutes.
I think they deal more with customers who use the ERR and then report their defective compressors within the warranty period, rather than customers who crown a highly efficient heat pump as their new hobby.
Brötje justified it exactly like that to Heizu.
The only strange thing is the size and type of the buffer. A 100L tank where the flows meet and completely turn the content upside down, in my opinion, is not a buffer but an efficiency killer.
At Heliotherm, who are behind Brötje, such a small buffer is not provided at all. It starts at 300L there. The heat pump and underfloor heating flow temperature will also match more precisely.
I would like a bigger buffer, but do I want to sacrifice the space in the utility room for it?
