I decided against an update. asked, he didn't want it any other way. But joking aside. We are already watching the power consumption. I fight for every dishwasher, washing machine load that my wife wants to run on grid power without photovoltaics. It's give and take, after all, I don't interfere when she wants to buy two big raised beds from biohort. That way everyone gets what they want :)

But is that still a carefree life if I have to think about when I’m allowed to do laundry and when not? I mean, I run the dishwasher because the dishes are dirty, not because the sun is shining. Exactly for that reason people build—to be free to some extent, without tenants, etc., noise in the house, or dirty, worn stairwells. Credit to your saving measures, but it does sound a bit strange.

Oh, I don’t know. As long as he’s not patrolling the house with a stun gun, it can also help to create a bit more awareness and pass that on to others like children, so they learn early that not everything is endlessly available.

No, both are wrong. I know that. You get carried away and it’s fun. It’s like with my electric car. I couldn’t care less whether I charge at home or for free at Aldi. Still, I zoom to Aldi with an empty battery and get as happy as a little kid when the charging station is free. Humans are hunters and gatherers. Such things can’t be explained with reason :D

What’s the difference with home automation, with photovoltaics, storage, and Wi-Fi dishwasher and Wi-Fi washing machine? Here the BMS decides, since our devices can’t do this, we do it manually. You just have to use the opportunity you get, otherwise, you won’t achieve a reasonable level of self-sufficiency. If your wife deliberately turns on the oven in the dark to bake a cake for tomorrow, you also wonder why it wasn’t baked in the sunshine. The same goes for the washing machine and dishwasher.

I can understand, it's the same at our place. At noon, the energy goes into the grid for 10 cents and in the evening the washing machine and dishwasher drain the battery. But by now I have given up.
