I really think air conditioning is great for the summer. However, on the ground floor I only have one sensible place outside and inside for the indoor and outdoor units. Everywhere else inside is not possible.

Besides, as always... no power connection was planned or installed even though I had it in the back of my mind. I don’t think I can run it over the roller shutter line, can I?

If your blinds are connected with a normal 3*1.5 cable, it works. The units might draw about 1.5 kW peak load. So not worse than a hairdryer.

Generally, the outdoor units are supplied with power. From there, it is then routed – together with control lines and refrigerant pipes – to the indoor unit. This also has to drain (preferably the same way) with a gradient.
Of course, you might have power near the outdoor unit, then that fits. If you only have power near the indoor unit, you just have to somehow get from the nearest socket behind the indoor unit. From there, you can supply the outdoor unit along all the other cables. From that point on, as described above.

There’s almost always a solution. Especially HVAC technicians are always very creative. ;-)

Yes, and making a slit and cleaning again is especially not a problem on the inside at all. On the outside, it is harder to implement.

We currently always have between 22 and 23 degrees inside, which is very comfortable. The bedroom is too warm at 23 degrees, so we are currently ventilating it down to 21.8 degrees at night. Then it's fine.

However, it will soon be tropical nights, then you've lost anyway and just sweat :D. But honestly: finally summer! After this spring, I prefer sweating (and I say that as an absolute winter and cold freak :D).

And there is always the option to sleep in the basement, which we really like to do in the high summer. Pleasantly cool :)

And still an active cooling has to run? Underfloor heating-tempering is completely sufficient in our timber frame house. ;)

Yes. Where I live, it is warm in summer.

I stayed overnight at my parents' place the other day. No controlled residential ventilation, no blinds, 1.5 stories.

I honestly didn’t remember it being that bad with these temperatures. Felt like 70% humidity, 29 degrees Celsius on the ground floor despite internal shading, and about 35 degrees Celsius under the roof on the upper floor, like being in a sauna.
