Ah ok, that already looked strange. But it does defrost quite often. I'm not an optimization expert but 35 degrees flow temperature at the still moderate temperatures you have... have you ever tried to optimize it, hydraulic balancing etc.? ERR active?

Reconciliation has been done, ERRs are indeed installed but no longer have any use. Actuators are all set to manual and thus open. The installation location of the outdoor unit is not optimal, it is behind the house where the sun never reaches. On the front side of the house where the sun hits hard, we currently have +2°C and behind the house -8°C. The house is built according to the 2016 Energy Saving Ordinance, no Kfw.

With 24 degrees and if the area is fully heated, that's really good. But we already touched on the topic of tank rental and 10-year contracts in new development areas without gas connection. If the design of the underfloor heating is not "designed for a heat pump for some time in the future," then you are dependent on gas forever.

From a heating technology perspective, I don't think there is a "thing" where you can heat with low investment, independence, low maintenance, and efficiency, right?

No, of course that's good. I never wanted to claim otherwise!

One thing is the amount of heat you need to bring the house to the desired temperature. But that depends on the building envelope and less on the energy source. Whether it's a heat pump or a gas boiler connected doesn't make a difference in the amount of heat.
The other is how effectively the system then works, meaning how much heat it produces.

My comment was more general, before someone starts using the current numbers as an occasion to compare the systems, and especially because I’m a bit worried about who I think was just about to crap his pants because he might have chosen the wrong heating system. :p ;)

....Just kidding... :D

It's not just about the heating technology. I also believe that at Bookstar, it's not one single thing. It's probably the accumulation of many small things.

Right now, due to massive solar gain, it's 25.7 degrees in the ground floor and 22.1 degrees in the upper floor, while the heat pump has been off for 8.5 hours and will probably only start in about 3 hours because it's still 1.0 degree away from the threshold. -Outside temperature currently -5.5 degrees.

That's why I also said yesterday that it will probably be too warm at Tom's today.

we also have 25 degrees on the ground floor but the heat pump is still running full blast. The return flow setpoint is 27.5 and actual is 27.9. Sometime in the afternoon it might turn off, we'll see.

The problem is, we now have to ventilate the warm air out because otherwise it gets too hot inside. At the same time, the heat pump is running. Quite absurd!

AT Currently still -10 degrees outside.

I recently read an article that most heat pumps do not reach a COP of 3 and are uneconomical. That was a balm for my criticized heating soul since my system delivers between 3.0 and 4.0.

oh that was good!
