Currently, we are at 400 watts with standard modules (1.7*1.0 m). I find that quite decent. But do you perhaps have other roof areas? North roof with a slope <30°? Garage, carport, garden shed? Even partially shaded areas can already be economical. Basically, you can calculate it with PVGIS, more detailed, also with shadow progression, with Photovoltaik-Sol.
If it does not necessarily have to be economical, south facades are also possible. They especially help the heat pump in the deep winter get going.

The money would have been better invested in expansion towards a passive house, in my opinion.
