From a control engineering perspective, that is of course – I’ll put it kindly – rather suboptimal!

Why? With us, the sensors are also directly attached to the cables.

wouldn't you have bought your heat pump better without housing and covers, just as a hobby

That's currently my smallest problem. :p What the error search has cost me in time and money, because the heat pump simply ran unnecessarily too long. You have to take that in. Return flow setpoint 23.7 + 2K is my shut-off limit. The broken part shows 23.9 degrees even though it is already 28.7 degrees.

Really crazy.

That's why the heating curve with 25/21/0 also worked. When the sensor is repaired again, it will be more like 26/21/0 or even 27/21/0.

because you should always measure in the medium (water). Otherwise, you have a lot of heat transfer losses due to the Cu pipe of the line, the Cu sleeve where the sensor is inserted, the stainless steel sleeve of the sensor itself, and air. You can see for yourself what happens if the sensor is not properly inserted into the sleeve. The measuring element is located right at the tip of the sensor. The contact area of the measuring element is therefore very, very small. In addition, you also measure the room air temperature...

: you should definitely inject thermal paste into the Cu sleeve where the sensor is inserted!

The sensor was always properly inserted. The part is just defective.
