Zaba a photovoltaic system is a great thing, but it does cost a few bucks :D. Where else can you get something for free?

The funny thing is, the heating is off again or wasn't on at all. Now that the outside temperature has already risen to 4 degrees and the RT setpoint has adjusted :).

Now the sun is heating up the house. I'm curious to see how it continues, maybe my plan will work :D

So I have to say, it's running wonderfully. The temperatures are largely stable, the bathroom remains a bit of a problem child, with only 21.2 degrees. Otherwise, everything is identical despite a 2-degree lower heating curve.
Now here’s the thing: consumption has almost halved! currently needing 10-12 kWh and also no longer having to ventilate out so much heat. The system also runs only 4 hours a day instead of 8.
Oh, and for reference, the average temperature has stayed pretty much the same, currently at 4.6 degrees.
Unfortunately, I have no explanation, you can see heat pumps are real divas :D

Sounds good. 21.2 in the bathroom is wonderful. The bathroom is not a living space. Besides, if you can play outside at 19 degrees and sunshine in a T-shirt and shorts, then you can also endure 21.2 degrees in the bathroom. The lady as well...

You will have the opportunity to test the heating circuit in 1-2 weeks at cold temperatures. Although last night we had -5.8 degrees. If I were you, I would just let it run and balance it out with the solar yield.

The question is, why is the amount of heat decreasing...?

Yes, I will let it run as is and if it should ever get too cool, I have prepared wood and can counteract at short notice.

As for the amount of heat, I would only have the explanation that we overheat and therefore ventilate so much, and the system always reheats. But I haven’t really understood that properly yet either.

Just for fun, I completely turned off the gas heating for 3 days this week. Hot water through solar thermal...
During the day all the blinds up, then we had about 24-25 degrees in the ground floor and upper floor (If we heat, then also to 24° :p)
In the evening the fireplace on each time, then the 24° could be maintained until 12 a.m. In the morning it was then 22.7° in the house.
But since I do home office in the basement, it was about 20° there after the 3 days... Didn't feel like sitting in the cold, everything back on :D.
But when the sun shines, we could quite well stay self-sufficient regarding heating. If you are willing to give up on comfort. Because even at 24°, the floor was still uncomfortably cold.

Question to the group: How would a timber frame house behave in such an experiment. It should cool down much more at night, right??? Are there any experiences?

I'll start and do some promo for a photovoltaic system. Considering that February is one of the darker months, the sun really gave it its all. If no snow had fallen or stayed on the ground at the beginning of the month, I would have had at least 130 kWh more photovoltaic electricity. So, today at the end of the month, the generated photovoltaic electricity will probably be 395 kWh.

The total household consumption including the heat pump is 600 kWh, although in the last 10 days we simply didn’t pay attention to the comfort electricity anymore.
