Connecting the dishwasher to the hot water supply. Is that sensible?

But I wouldn't do it with the dishwasher either, as there is no saving effect. Extra costs may arise from the piping for hot water as well as circulation on the same line. But both of these might be present anyway at the outlet. However, one should not believe that this saves anything.

Dishwasher: definitely useful! no effort and no additional costs. Our solar thermal system is limited to 65°C storage temperature, so the dishwasher does not need electricity to heat water from April to September/October. The detergent (!) also contains no enzymes that cannot withstand 60°C.

With a ballast, washing in the washing machine is definitely worthwhile, and the dishwasher has also been connected for years. Since using these two connections, I have had an annual electricity consumption of only 2000 kWh. Incidentally, I saw and split my wood electrically. Welding work is also done during the current year. For a household of 3 people, this electricity consumption is highly recommended, thanks to the solar connections.
