Photovoltaic system that covers its monthly costs by itself and amortizes

There are two households. In both, the women are at home around midday, so the washing machine, dryer, and dishwasher can all be scheduled for midday. Then one apartment has a wood stove. So in winter, cooking is usually never done with electricity and the kettle for tea is also not needed. And about 8% of the consumption is used by two dehumidifiers in the summer half-year that run in the basement to keep the humidity at a good level. I can set that with a timer for midday.

As you can see, there are some parameters with us that suggest that 50% is quite realistic, so I have calculated that for myself.

Except for the dehumidifiers, the mentioned setup doesn’t differ from the 30% self-sufficiency. To my knowledge, 30% is already the maximum with the woman being home at midday and running dryer and washing machine. With my e-car without storage, I calculated a maximum of 40% myself. But that’s irrelevant. It was still a good decision regarding photovoltaic. Interesting calculation. Thanks for that. I find the kWp/€ quite expensive for such a large system. Isn’t it already in the lower nine hundred range? Are those full black modules?

I can tell you in a year whether my assumption was correct.

If an electric car should come in a few years, it will look significantly better anyway, as it is usually at home during the day, so I can then get about 90% of the electricity needed for the car from my photovoltaic system.

By the way, you don't always have to quote the previous post in full.

Oh yes, and what also benefits the 50% is that the system is significantly oversized in terms of consumption

The offer is okay, it also depends on the configuration. We ourselves are planning with 26.3 kWp and have only 2 offers in this region. One based on SolarEdge is at 940€/kWp and one based on SMA is at 900€/kWp (both from the same provider). All others obtained are above 1000€.

Sorry, I must have overlooked that. The house was built in ’64 and has a mortared ridge. This will be completely redone as a dry ridge because it’s no longer in great condition and will probably suffer even more due to the movement of the panels. Additionally, there is a snow guard on one side of the house, 16 meters long. If you estimate these two things at about 2000,-, you come to a price of 886,- per kWp. But since both are done by the solar installer and also because of the photovoltaic system, I included it in my profitability calculation. Regards Specki
