Do I understand correctly: the architect, without you having guided his inspiration in that direction, happened to arrive at almost the same floor plan that you had already presented here as a zigzag wall variant?

It seems to me that the assignment is wrong here: apparently he has the marching order to only refine the drawer design to be input-ready – so neither to question it nor actively to put forward his own initial design (?)

No, I mentioned the zigzag wall to him and he neither liked it particularly nor was he against it. It was more a question from me whether something like that would be possible. Technically no problem, and since it also has advantages, he initially included it. Of course, I can still remove the zigzag wall. I'm just not sure yet (see pros and cons mentioned earlier).

Absolutely not to put forward his own initial design, there is already the preliminary draft from the seller for that. Of course, if he sees that the preliminary draft doesn’t work at all, he has no choice but to step in. Apparently it was really only about refining the drawer draft and iron out any major errors. My question about further ideas was rather dismissed or only addressed after further pressing.

OT: You know 11ant, I think it's good that you get to see how things really work. You constantly have to justify here that you only get one kick in the ass from the architect and no one believes you.

Then a pointed hint is in order as to who pays for the celebration. It is supposed to be your house, after all it is being built on your property. And it is not your task to increase the sales figures of mediocre draft 08/15.

So our architect always says, "A floor plan must be so simple that you can pee it into the snow."

This architect seems to be an art pisser if he leaves this zigzag wall uncommented. Sure, you can build that, you can also build curved walls. The question is whether it makes sense, what it costs, and what it brings. I think it's stupid to spend a lot more money on something that basically brings hardly any benefit. But maybe that's because I'm not an art pisser.

But as has been mentioned here in the forum several times: man’s will is his kingdom!

Katja, we got rid of our first architect because he didn’t go along the way we wanted. Whoever pays, calls the shots. Period.

Yes, that would be nice. But the contract has already been signed with the general contractor including the architect. Should he now be sent home and a new one be paid for separately? The budget is already tight.
