Oh yes, the link would definitely interest me!

We want to build in the Ostalbkreis - that is about an hour east of Stuttgart and an hour north of Ulm.

I go to a restaurant I don't know, order a starter soup, which of course I don't pay for to see if I even like it here. If I don't like it, I would have thrown the money out the window… I just can't accept that ;) Honestly, anyone who does work should get paid, right? Whether you can/want to do anything with it later is solely your problem. Regards

Well, I don't quite see it that way. I used to purchase in the service sector. And there, the service providers first had to put work into a sometimes very detailed, multi-page offer that I or the departments' stakeholders could make use of, in order to possibly be awarded the contract... or not... And they certainly didn't get any money from us for that ;)

It's not like I want a fully planned house for free.

That's why I asked how it works with architects - and I have already received an answer ;-)

Hello,

yes, I know the area too.

We are building in the Böblingen district, west of Stuttgart.

The selection process is described in [September 2013].

Best regards,

Dirk

Well, an architect is not a service provider. Then he is more comparable to a composer.

Before creating the score, you roughly know his price (HOAI), the costs for the orchestra that then performs the creation you can inquire about yourself with the orchestra provider. The composer also knows the prices roughly.

But the decision whether a prefabricated house, GÜ or architect or something in between is a fundamental decision, not a price comparison question.
