Do you mean Chimney 1?

As far as I'm concerned, the thing can also poke through the exterior wall like a pipe. However, I would find that visually somewhat strange, in combination with a masonry chimney of the cozy fireplace.

But since a builder is gladly allowed to limit themselves to the "level of detail" of rough sketches, I can quite well get along with the (albeit unfamiliar to me) view of putting such things into the "architect stuff" drawer.

Condensing boilers have a LAS (air-exhaust system), meaning no chimney in the usual sense, and they look like this:

So completely unspectacular, they can also run through the insulation and protrude from the roof at any point.

That's how it is
I also find it strange that most attention here is focused on the chimney (living room), instead of making the best and most living space out of clear square meters (and yes, also gladly with a fireplace, but the positioning of the chimney should then be left to the architect), but opening up false side issues here only causes confusion.

I absolutely do not find it bad to not know everything. But what is bad is to always write something here in the forum without knowing it, as if it corresponds to the truth. Sometimes it's better to shut the f... up than to later have been part of a deceit and fraud forum [emoji35]

OT: I think Yvonne is on her period again. Just ignore..

The last version might be even better without doors? With a WF partition instead.

or you tear out the wall completely and move the fireplace:

Of course makes the dining area more spacious. Downside .. always feeling like you have to go through a proper entrance area=[Windfang] to get upstairs. Of course it’s the same before, but without a door, the [Windfang] is not really perceived that way. Definitely my respect for your variants.
