I suspect it will be tight with the fireplace and piano together. But we still don’t have any pictures of that today. And the little table isn’t the one you have, right? Looks like the doll furniture from the draftsman.
from the category:

4m? Where would the piano go then?
Wider house? The budget must have grown? Then just attach a conservatory.

That’s nonsense.

Sorry, but we go over this up and down every time. One could say that really everything is written down in a floor plan discussion, although much of it is also downplayed by a OP.

It should not come so far that advisors are held accountable here.
We advocate getting a professional who has studied design. You should better be quiet now. Because if you don’t do it, it’s entirely your own fault.
And yes, I read that you don’t want to assign blame, but actually your criticism says otherwise.

Who here knows what you want to do with a family house in retirement? It is your own maturity to decide what you value.
Can I recall that you were quite stubborn about your fireplace and saw nothing else?

With a southwest location, I would have no problem placing a nice medium-height shrub or bush near the corner or wall.

I don’t see the problem with the fireplace unless the table is extended extremely (2.6m or more), but that’s not the usual case. I rather see the problem if the table is placed roughly in the middle of the sliding door, and you sit rather loosely, meaning the end of the chair is about 75 cm away from the table, then you have an overall width of about 2.5m. Surely you don’t have to place the table exactly in the middle, but rather closer to the kitchen island, yet not too far, otherwise the passageway is quite blocked. In the picture I have shown again the two problematic paths that arise when A) there is a large width if the chairs are not close to the table B) there is a large length if the table is extended or placed further away from the window And yes, currently we do indeed have such a small table (120 x 80 cm) and there are no problems with it, but I tend to prefer something like 180 x 90 or I’m lucky to find a 140 x 90 that can be extended quite long, but I haven’t seen one yet, or they are quite rare. Yes, I thought the 4m was great, but of course unrealistic given the conditions. I also like that the piano is placed there and you can also place a dining table against the wall on the outside, that works fine. Maybe 3m would have been quite nice. That could definitely have been squeezed out. In hindsight, I unfortunately planned very conservatively, partly due to our house planner who somehow aimed to save. I was able to partially correct that before construction started (larger double casement windows, controlled residential ventilation etc.). And of course there were restrictions (max. 100 m² floor space etc., small plot). On a larger plot, I would have built a house with 170-180 m². Yes, the budget is definitely still quite available in hindsight. I also like the conservatory, I would build it at the kitchen exit, but because of the 3m building boundary to the neighbor, they would have to agree... but that can also be done in a few years.

We will certainly do that too. I also find a trellis very nice (with vine or evergreen), it takes up little space.

Yes, that's true, unfortunately I lost sight of many other things back then.

I already see myself tearing down walls and enlarging windows in a few years
And yes, of course, in retirement age quite different things will certainly be relevant. Then I might no longer need a study on the ground floor but would prefer a large open space, etc.
But you can't build for every life situation..
