hmm, I really think that is your fundamental problem. You do see what you like somewhere, but you can't manage to imagine how it looks in your situation. You're not alone with that; many people have this problem. But since you apparently do have some standards for how it should look in the final state, I think you/you all should really get someone to support you. Otherwise, you will buy a really great sofa – but unfortunately totally unsuitable for your situation.

The sofa in the picture is great, no question. But simply a sofa that is absolutely not an option for you. As 11ant already said: even the sofa you currently have is actually too bulky for the space. And that's not only because it doesn't have delicate legs. I don't think that kind of sofa is clever for you. You already have a lot of wall space, and with such a sofa you add another "closed" layer. Therefore, I would consciously look for a sofa solution that is not such a closed phalanx but appears more "airy." A delicate two-seater sofa against the wall under the west window, a single armchair where the sofa is now, because the little piano (really nothing more *g*) also adds to the "closed" feeling – I wouldn't put another sofa next to it. Then another chair in the room or maybe better a suitable stool, not a chair. In between, the lighting solutions I already mentioned – so side tables with lamps, floor lamps, or standing lamps.

The central table in the middle is the least needed; I would keep it small and delicate (when lounging on the sofa, the side tables are much better!). And please never with a doily on it *shakes head*.

Clear the windowsills – at least not this conglomerate of different plants that are fading away. A well-placed decorative object or a beautiful orchid – nothing else. The windows are not big enough to be filled like that.

Why isn't that ominous piece actually in the guest room?
