Yes, it doesn't always have to be symmetrical.

The hallway cabinet is sufficient for us, and if necessary, there is still space under the stairs for a few coat hooks. I don’t really see that as a problem anymore. I told the architect to get the maximum out of it.

The bedroom floor space? If I can still move the window so that I can fit a good cabinet between the chimney and the exterior wall, it’s not bad at all. Sure, it’s not a huge bedroom, but okay.

What about the window above the sofa? No one has complained about it so far. In most houses you see windows or even floor-to-ceiling windows behind the sofa (which is even more pointless)...

I believe the problem was that we made a preliminary draft ourselves for our house contract. This was based on the basic house + our own research. And of course, it also incorporated what was important to us (fireplace, pieces of furniture, etc.). We then took this floor plan to the architect, who only checked once more for extreme major errors and then traced it. So it mainly depends on the skill and experience of the house seller how the design turns out. Ours was more focused on function and not on beauty, or rather didn’t have many big ideas.

It is probably unusual for the architect to have made several designs on his own initiative, or it would have cost a lot of time and money.

Of course, there are more brilliant designs, but you always have to look at the surroundings of the plot, where you can put windows and where not. I would also have liked a southwest corner window, but then the neighbors would constantly be looking in. You then have to weigh beauty versus function. Dormers could also have been done, but personally, I don’t find them very beautiful.

Yes, he is...

Yes, I definitely want it, also for a bit more brightness. Do you really think it has to be that close to the TV wall?

A terrace on the northwest side, yes, but not an exit from the living room at this height yet. There is still too little western sun, rather more to the north towards the street.
An exit to the west from the living room would therefore probably not bring much.

What makes an "interesting" facade? Many dormers? If you look at other providers like Viebrockhaus, you mostly see nothing different there either...
