I don’t know how it would look in reality, since a part would then stand in front of the window, but I thought of the picture:

as a bench solution at the island, which also extends a bit (it looks on the floor plan as if the passage between the bottom row and the island is quite generous). I would also put the sofa on the other wall, but you didn’t want the piano by the window, right?

Example picture (c) Baufritz

To be a bit harsh: I read through the thread and you didn’t accept any of the many helpful suggestions. For example, there were several designs with two cabinet doors! Complaining about the forum now is somehow unfair.

Yes, the idea is not a bad one at all – sofa on the west side and then, for example, 2 armchairs opposite – that also looks good. Focusing too much on the TV is not always good either. However, the corner sofa would offer everyone sitting on it a great view of the fireplace – which we planned so intensively. Now it should also be looked at.

If you were actually aimless, then you cleverly covered it up with a obsession for detail. You stood for a long time in second place right behind

I can hardly hold back from mentioning that a fake fireplace could be repositioned more flexibly

Thanks for the photo, it really looks interesting. Definitely worth considering. But we already have cabinets and an open shelf facing the dining table on the kitchen island. However, I think you might achieve the same thing if you place the table pretty close to the window and a bit more towards the island. You just have to make sure there is good passage and, as in the example picture, the person sitting inside always has a hard time getting out. That’s why we imagined the table a bit away from the window (about 60-70 cm), so that you can get up easily from anywhere. Yes, I know, I’m familiar with the drafts and it was not my intention to complain here or to blame anyone. I also showed the drafts to relatives, etc., who didn’t find anything wrong with them. Back then, there were just too many things to be reconciled, which you often don’t see in a show house, which often appear much more window-heavy – fireplace (+ bench + wood shelf), TV, bookshelf, piano. It wasn’t easy at all to place everything sensibly and then also think about meaningful windows, which was probably too much. Maybe less (furnishing) would have been more, but we wanted to have everything.

At first, my living room also looked "bare" around the windows, so I put up curtains and drapes and the effect was really amazing!! So just go for it, additionally reduce the fixed lighting (you’re not going to operate on the coffee table, are you?) and you’ll have a different room.

Many acquaintances of mine, from my generation, have those bare windows and want it that way. I usually don’t like it.

You also have to be careful with show homes.

Many show homes currently simply convey a feeling of minimalism, airiness, spaciousness. It is modern.
The formerly spacious entrance area becomes a bottleneck with piles of shoes and jackets (Of course, in the show home there were 4 empty hooks)
The freestanding bathtub is built in with shelves - 4 people simply need a lot of towels, hygiene products, etc.
And the formerly large area between dining and living has become a slalom course because the play kitchen and train take up the space.
