You also made the remark that you could gladly do without about 50cm or so in width in the living room.
Okay, I recommended a built-in wardrobe opposite the stairs to you, which you somewhat mocked. Doesn’t bother me.
I didn’t mock it, but at the spot where you placed it, the fireplace has to go in the living room. With the built-in wardrobe, the space in the living room becomes very tight, or this combination chimney - fireplace - wood compartment can no longer be realized.
I can do without the width in the living room next to the chimney/fireplace, as sketched in my latest design (but only about 25 cm), which then creates the niche for the chimney/fireplace.
I already had the feeling that everything was heading in the right direction.
Now the whole ground floor is totally messed up. Sorry, but there is no other way to say it.
Waste of space: the hallway becomes crooked, even bigger, without any functional benefit. The guest room also becomes almost unfurnishable.
And yes: in 5 minutes one can straighten the niches again, but what comes out of that? An even bigger kitchen, corners nobody needs?
I only tried to make the hallway a bit narrower compared to my first design and create an extra closet room for that. It was just an idea. If the guest room or something else suffers because of it, it doesn’t have to be that way. It could have been that someone liked the idea, picked it up, and maybe found a way to create a bit more functionality.
Yes, a closet in the upper utility room is a solution, for example, for the changeable wardrobe. However, I would only recommend storing laundry and coats there in very exceptional cases, where you wash and dry. At that house price, I assume there won’t be a controlled residential ventilation system installed?
I would probably have my concerns about that. Then it would be better to use the freezer room on the ground floor for this changeable wardrobe.
What about the idea of using the storage space under the stairs?
P.S. a depth of 60 should suffice.
I definitely want the washing machine in the lower utility room. As you said, storing and drying there is bad. Therefore, only storage in the upper utility room. No, there will be no controlled residential ventilation installed.
The storage space under the stairs can also be used. But I wouldn’t plan it 100% for that right now, since the space might need to be used for a stroller, dog sleeping place, etc. Therefore, I tried to create an additional closet room in the hallway. It perhaps does not have to be such a huge niche.
