Don't get upset. There are compromises that others have to make even more. Everything has its time... almost everyone would plan differently now, because only now can you really experience the planned life. But that's just life: you should also be satisfied to look at other important events in the future. The house quickly puts things into perspective because it becomes less important whether the west side is symmetrical, bare, or enlivened with a bench.
It's just sometimes frustrating when you stand in the living room and see what simple possibilities there could have been. Why, for example, not just put the piano on the other side next to the living room door and make the fireplace a bit smaller? Then the entire south side would have been open for windows of any width. Or also a wider couch, etc. But as you already said, you have to experience it first. On paper, everything always looks quite different, and unfortunately, I can't always imagine something like that well beforehand. But yes, I will be satisfied with it too, and eventually life goes on, and other things become important. Nevertheless, a lot of money was spent on it, and of course, it would have been nice to have a floor plan that also works well in everyday life.
