The drawings from the architect for our house are basically finished, only the window in the hallway on the ground floor is still giving me headaches. The architect sent us a section and an interior view, where it looks like at least one step runs directly in front of the window. That probably won’t look very nice from inside or outside. The window is currently positioned in the middle between the front door and the interior wall, each about 62 cm apart.

I would prefer not to make the window narrower, since the bathroom window is also that size and then there would be a new window size on the house side. It could also be moved toward the front door (about 25-30 cm), but then it would be quite close to the front door and would it still look good from outside? Maybe you have a great idea.

Attached are the view of the house side and the section with the interior view.

The floor plan from your post #273 means that the step marked with a dot in the attached picture will be at the height of the windowsill.

So: "all clear," I would say.

If I count from the bottom, the step marked with the red dot is the 9th. This step is directly in front of the window both in the section and interior view, and not at the height of the windowsill, or did I miss something?

9 x 18.44 = 165.96, parapet height 162.5 (structural dimension, = 146 finished dimension). Correct, then there is a step below level with the windowsill.

In this respect, a cleaning fitting is probably recommended instead of a classic DK window.

I would strongly recommend making sure that the windowsill runs either completely below all the steps or completely above them. If it is all below, you can let the element run into the reveal and it is hardly noticeable that the sill is right underneath.

However, as soon as the windowsill is partially level with one step and partially under the next higher one, it looks awkward.

It will not be a DK window, but a fixed one that cannot be opened.
