You are absolutely right. That is why the assessment of the replacement value is so important. And at €3,400 I am miles away from the 130%. The insurance company has therefore deliberately pushed the value down and the costs up, so that a repair approval does not occur. The residual value was noted as €400, by the way. A seat bench alone is traded for over €1,000. We have meanwhile had the vehicle temporarily repaired; the scratches and dents are of course still there. But it is roadworthy and even passed TÜV in January.

Letter from the opposing insurance dated 01/12/2020: Dear Ms. ...., Attached please find the final and conclusive statement on the replacement value from the expert xxx. No further statements will be made in this matter by the expert or by us.

Furthermore, we inform you that this is a clear total loss. A repair in the 130% range is no longer given.

You are reminded solely to provide your bank details in accordance with your letter of 09/11/2020.

The matter is closed.

Understand So one wouldn’t have had to handle the whole thing directly with a lawyer, an expert, and a workshop like that? - Replacement value €8000 - Residual value €1000 - Repair: €9100 (130% of the difference)

Exactly. But at that time I was so stupid that I agreed that the expert of the opposing insurance would do the appraisal. My mistake. The accident was on Friday afternoon. Hardly at home, the phone rang. The opposing insurance offered their help and gave me an appointment for an appraisal on Monday, because they wanted to support me and settle the matter quickly. HaHaHa!

Somehow logical. Compulsively and perfectionistically approaching therapy against compulsive perfectionism results in a perfect disaster. Sorry for the cynicism, it’s not aimed at you, but at the situation.

Whereas the self-diagnosis “perfectionist” is of course self-deception, because your perfectionism in one area prevents it in another. Naturally, as a self-employed person, you cannot separate your compulsions from your job. Simply because there are only 24 hours in a day and you can only spend each hour on one thing.
If – Then – relationship: If you spend time on a legal dispute, then you could have earned money in your self-employment in the same time. Consequently, you only pursue self-employment imperfectly.
You don’t separate your job as a self-employed person from the flu either; it’s the flu that separates you from your job. Another perspective might make you happy, but it is self-deception to feel better.

In any case, I wish you as long phases of satisfaction as possible so your body can recover.

I have to disagree with you on that. I work in the gastronomy industry and only on weekends.

Then I retract this statement. I had the image of the full-time self-employed person with the famous 55+ hour week in mind.
